tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25716556686780555052011-04-21T15:46:36.622-07:00A comment with the desire to know other people's feelings as to why so much effort is put into voting for something that can simply be changed by lawyers and judges.Freemanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04388966784596372741noreply@blogger.comBlogger11100tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2571655668678055505.post-77332342416866790632008-11-06T15:19:00.000-08:002008-11-06T16:00:47.458-08:00It is interesting to me, a fifty year old home grown American, that the majority of us, including the lawyers, jugdes, and magistrates, are tied so patriotically to this wonderful country of ours and yet we somehow allow people to try and run to lawyers and judges to overturn propositions and ammendments which we as a people vote for.<br /><br />Take Proposition 8 in California for example. You get a proposition on the ballot. Nobody in the Government disallows it on the ballot. The people of California vote for Prop. 8 and it wins, and every person for Gay &amp; Lesbian rights jumps on a band wagon with lawyers and attempts not only to be riotous, but to overturn something that the majority voted for.<br /><br />I mean if you're going to think that is okay, then why not try ousting President Elect Obama with lawyers. Of course not! We're not going to do that! and rightly so.<br /><br />Why give the American citizen the opportunity to vote if you're just going to override his or her vote with a lawyer a week later? It just doesn't make sense.
